The Uco Valley is the Mendoza of the photographs: vineyards above 3,000 feet, clear summer skies and the cordillera so close it looks like a stage set. Here you don’t drive out and back: you sleep among the vines for two nights, with a pool, silence and the mountains in the window when you wake. The wineries are the ones worth the trip: Andeluna at sunset, DiamAndes and Monteviejo in the Clos de los Siete, the architecture of Alfa Crux and lunch at Zuccardi Piedra Infinita.
Private car and driver, a reserved table everywhere and a Portuguese-speaking advisor from first contact to boarding. The itinerary
Airport welcome and private transfer straight to the Uco Valley, about an hour and a half away. Check-in at the lodge among the vines, an afternoon by the pool and, as the day ends, Tardecitas de Andeluna: an open-air tasting as the sun sinks behind the Andes.
Morning at DiamAndes, the Bonnie family's winery of spectacular architecture, with a chef's tasting-menu lunch and the house wines. In the afternoon, Monteviejo, its neighbor in the Clos de los Siete, with terraces facing the cordillera. Overnight at the lodge.
Visit to Alfa Crux, where architecture, art and wine share the same space. Then the tasting-menu lunch at Zuccardi Valle de Uco —Piedra Infinita, named the world's best winery several times— with wide-open views of the Andes. In the late afternoon, transfer to downtown Mendoza for the last night.
Check-out and, on the way to the airport, a stop at the Catena Zapata pyramid in Agrelo for one last tasting: the wines that put Argentine Malbec on the map. Private transfer to your flight.
