Classic Luján
Carmelo Patti – Norton – Piatelli
Luján is considered the cradle of Argentina's modern wine industry and is the country's main wine-producing region. 🥇
Wine production in Luján dates back to the 16th century, when Spanish conquistadors brought 🍇vines to the region. The dry climate, abundant sunlight and well-drained soils along the foothills of the Andes proved ideal for growing grapes 👌. Luján gained recognition in the 1850s and 1860s as the first area where Malbec grapes were planted.
Today, Luján contains more than 20,000 hectares of vineyards along the Mendoza River. The region benefits from a high-altitude semi-arid climate, with hot, sunny days and cool nights. Luján's unique terroir helps create Malbecs 👌, Cabernet Sauvignons and other full-bodied red varieties that have gained international recognition.
With a history 📜 that spans more than 400 years, Luján remains the heart ❤️ of winemaking in Argentina. Its beautiful landscapes 🏕️, charming wineries 🏭 and award-winning wines 🍾 make Luján an essential destination to understand Argentine wine culture.
